Pengambaran melalui dinding (TWI) semakin menjadi tumpuan antarabangsa. Pengambaran melalui dinding merupakan satu aplikasi yang amat berguna dalam kecemasan seperti perompakan, military dan gempa bumi. Jikalau seseorang masuk ke tempat kejadian untuk menjalankan inspektasi, sesungguhnya amat berbahaya dan berisiko. Untuk megetahui adakah orang di sebalik dinding ataupun tidak memerlukan sistem radar untuk mengimbas apa yang terdapat di sebalik dinding. Antena merupakan satu elemen yang terpenting dalam radar. Dalam projek ini, antena celah luas bentuk P, sejenis antena mikrojalur dijadikan tatasusunan antena 16 elemen untuk pengambaran memalui dining. Antena celah luas bentuk P mempunyai lebar jalus yang luas dan bersaiz padat, amat bersesuaian untuk pelaksanaan ultra-jalur-lebar (UWB). Teknik penjarakan rawak telah digunakan untuk mengurangkan imej hantu berbanding dengan penjarakan seragam. Antena bentuk P telah dibuat berpasangan pada substrat yang sama demi meningkat gandaan antena. Selain itu, algoritma tunda-dan-tambah (DAS) telah digunakan dalam pemprosesan data, ia menganjak isyarat serak balik yang berbeza fasa kemudian menambah semua gelombang untuk pembinaan imej. Enam rekabentuk tatasusunan antena telah dihasilkan dan diujikaji serta dibandingkan telah digunakan dan dibandingkan resolusi pengimbasannya, ketepatannya dan kepersisannya. Dari hasil ujikaji, tatasusunan antena 1 telah dipilih sebagai tatasusunan antena yang terbaik. Akhirnya, projek ini berjaya menghasilkan sebuat tatasusunan antena celah luas bentuk P 16 elemen bersama sebuah perumahan untuk kegunaan pengambaran melalui dinding. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Through the wall imaging (TWI) is gaining attention in the sight of the world. It is a very useful application in emergency such as robbery, military and earthquake. It is risky to enter the scenario physically in search of the culprit as they might be potentially harmful. Hence, to scan people behind a concrete wall, a radar system is required. Part of the radar system is the antenna as the key scanning component. In this project, P-shaped wide slot antenna, a microstrip patch antenna is used to develop a 16 element antenna array for through wall imaging. P-shaped wide- slot antenna is wide in bandwidth and compact antenna suitable for ultra-wide-band (UWB) implementation. To design the antenna array, randomly spaced technique is applied as aperiodic spacing between antenna can eliminate ghost image compared to uniformly spaced antenna. The P-shaped antenna is fabricated in pair on a same substrate for increasing the antenna gain. On the other hand, delay-and sum (DAS) algorithm is used in data processing by time-shifting the backscattered signal of different phases and then sums up all the wavefront to form the image signal construction. Six designs of antenna array are produced and have been tested and compared in term the scanning resolution, accuracy and precision. From the experimental results, random array design 1 is chosen as the best antenna array design. The project successfully developes a 16-element P-shaped wide-slot antenna array with an antenna housing for through the wall imaging.
