BS 5589:1989 - Code of practice for preservation of timber

This British Standard provides recommendations and guidance on methods for the preservation of timber to protect it from biological attack and degradation. It covers: The selection and specification of preservatives suitable for different end uses of timber. The processes and methods of applying preservatives, including pressure and non-pressure treatments. Handling, storage, and safety precautions associated with preservative-treated timber. Recommendations for ensuring long-term performance and durability of treated timber in service.
