BS 3076:1989, titled "Specification for Nickel and Nickel Alloys: Bar," was a British Standard that detailed the requirements for bars made from nickel and its alloys, including round, square, rectangular, and hexagonal shapes. This standard covered aspects such as chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, tolerances, heat treatment, and marking. It was published on January 31, 1990, and subsequently withdrawn on August 2, 2013. BSI KNOWLEDGE For current specifications and standards regarding nickel and nickel alloy bars, it is advisable to consult the latest publications from the British Standards Institution (BSI) or other relevant standardization bodies. Authorized copies of these standards can be purchased through official distributors, such as the BSI Knowledge website. BSI KNOWLEDGE Additionally, for specific alloy compositions and their applications, resources like Copper Alloys Ltd. provide detailed information on various nickel-copper alloys that were previously standardized under BS 3076:1989. For example, NA18 (BS 3076:1989 / DIN 2.4375) is a precipitation-hardenable high-strength, corrosion-resistant nickel alloy widely used in naval and marine applications. COPPER ALLOYS Similarly, NA13 (BS 3076:1989 / DIN 2.4360) is a single-phase nickel-copper alloy known for its high strength and excellent corrosion resistance in salt and brackish waters. COPPER ALLOYS These resources can provide valuable insights into the properties and applications of specific nickel alloys that were once covered under BS 3076:1989.
