Abstract This part of BS 5911 specifies requirements for precast concrete components for manholes of circular cross-section, either unreinforced or reinforced with steel, intended to be used in pipelines for the conveyance, under atmospheric pressure, of sewage or surface water. Requirements for soakaways are also specified. Requirements are given for materials, finish, dimensions and inspection procedures. Dimensions are specified for ogee, rebated and tongued and grooved type joints.
