Abstract This Part of BS 5385 gives recommendations for the design and installation of terrazzo tile and slab and natural stone internal and external floorings and for composition blocks as internal flooring. The recommendations for natural stone flooring are for units no greater than 0.6 m2 in area. The types of bedding methods that may be used and their suitability are given; also recommendations for the protection, cleaning and maintenance of the finished floor surface. Reference is made to floorings bedded directly to a screed. For the design and construction of screeds reference should be made to BS 5385-3.
