Tujuan kajian ini ialah untuk mereka bentuk dan menganalisa keadaan enjin omboh empat segi. Untuk enjin empat lenjang menggunakan analisis unsur terhingga dan juga menghasilkan ia menggunakan besi tahan karat dan keluli lembut. Enjin omboh empat segi adalah kombinasi antara dua bahagian iaitu omboh empat segi dan bongkah empat segi. Untuk cincin ombohnya daripada jenis besi silinder dan cincin penarik minyak pelincir daripada jenis muka rata, ia lebih berkesan dalam mengurangkan geseran antara omboh dan dinding bongkah. Dengan menngunakan analisis unsur terhingga, analisis struktur tiga demensi boleh dilaksanakan untuk enjin mengunakan petrol. Mengambil kira kawasan sempadan haba, tekanan dan keadaan perubahan bentuk terhadap omboh didalam persekitaran kesan gandingan antara tekanan haba dan tekanan daripada letupan di ambil kira. Pada masa yang sama, ujian keletihan terhadap omboh menunjukkan yang struktur omboh akan gagal terlebih dahulu disebabkan tekanan yang diberikan melebihi daripada tekanan yang omboh itu mampu bertahan. Faktor keselamatan bagi omboh ini adalah 1.2 sahaja. Keputusan analisis menunjukkan, penyebab utama yang mengancam keselamatan omboh, perubuhan bentuk omboh dan tekanan tinggi adalah tekanan daripada haba. Dengan mengoptimumkan struktur omboh, ia boleh mengurangkan suhu pada omboh. ___________________________________________________________________________________ The purpose of this research is to design and analyze the condition of the square piston for four stroke engine using Finite Element Analysis and also fabricating it using stainless steel and mild steel. Square piston engine is a combination of two main components which are the square piston and square block. The square piston component consists of three types of piston ring and also the square piston itself. The roll type piston ring with roll surface face are used as compression ring, and the square flat surface for the oil ring. The roll type ring is more efficient in reducing friction of the surface contact between the piston ring and the wall. With the finite element analysis software, a threedimensional structural analysis has been carried out to the gasoline engine piston. Considering the thermal boundary condition, the stress and the deformation distribution conditions of the piston under the coupling effect of the thermal load and explosion pressure have been calculated, thus providing a reference for design improvement. At the same time the fatigue analysis shows that, the piston will fail first due to yield strength and the safety factor was 1.2. Results show that, the main cause of the piston safety, the piston deformation and the greatest stress is the temperature, so is feasible to further decrease the piston temperature with structure optimization.
