Pelantar ujian enjin merupakan satu platform yang digunakan untuk menguji prestasi enjin dibawah keadaan yang berlainan. Teknologi ini banyak digunakan dalam penyelidikan dan pembangunan enjin terutamanya dalam industri automobil dan juga industri penerbangan. Kertas kerja ini membentangkan satu kajian dan pembangunan pelantar ujian untuk enjin kapal terbang berjenis kawalan jauh dan juga analisis terhadap prestasi enjin kapal terbang yang digunakan. Sebelum memulakan projek ini, satu kajian tentang kaedah pengukuran beban (daya tujahan dan daya kilas enjin), kuasa enjin dan RPM, serta kipas bilah telah dijalankan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai projek ini. Projek ini mengandungi 4 peringkat, iaitu, pemilihan enjin, rekabentuk konseptual, fabrikasi dan pemasangan, dan akhirnya, ujian eksperimen. Dalam peringkat ujian eksperimen, parameter seperti daya tujahan, daya kilas, RPM, penggunaan bahan api, dan kuasa telah diuji untuk menentukan keadaan operasi enjin yang optimum. Pelantar ujian yang telah dibina mempunyai kedua-dua sistem pengukuran daya tujahan dan daya kilas enjin, selain daripada parameter tersebut, kelajuan kipas bilah (RPM) dan juga penggunaan bahan api boleh diukur sama sekali. Enjin tersebut (dengan kipás bilah) mampu menghasilkan daya tujahan maximum sebanyak 29 N, RPM maksimum sebanyak 12187, dan kuasa maksimum sebanyak 598.74 W dalam keadaan statik. ___________________________________________________________________________________ An engine test rig is a platform used for testing of engine performance under different conditions. This technology is widely used in engine research and development especially in automobile and aviation industries. This thesis presents the development of a test rig for RC aircraft engine as well as the performance analysis for the selected engine. Before starting this project, a study on the load (engine thrust and torque) measurement methods, engine power and RPM, and propeller blade is conducted to get a better understanding on the project. This project consists of 4 stages, namely, Engine selection, Conceptual Design, Fabrication and Assembly, and finally, experiment testing. In experiment testing on the engine, parameters such as thrust, torque, RPM, fuel consumption, and power is tested to determine the optimum engine state of operation. The developed test rig have both engine thrust and torque measuring system, other than these two parameters, the propeller speed (RPM) and engine fuel consumption can be measured as well. With the propeller attached, the engine is capable of producing a maximum thrust of 29 N, a maximum RPM of 12187, and a maximum power of 598.74 W in static condition.
