Integrasi daripada bahan tahan mengkakis seperti kenaf tetulang bar sebagai tetulang dalam anggota konkrit akan memberi kebaikan kepada industri konkrit selain sesuai dengan konsep persekitaran hijau. Kos pembaikan dan pemulihan akibat pengaratan tetulang pada struktur konkrit dapat dikurangkan dengan penggunaan kenaf tetulang bar. Penyelidikan dijalankan adalah untuk membangunkan kaedah ujian tarik keluar bagi kenaf tetulang bar. Kekuatan ikatan antara kenaf bertulang bar dan konkrit telah dikaji. Pada keadaan permukaan batang kenaf agak halus, ia akan mempunyai masalah mencengkam ketika sedang ditarik oleh mesin uji. Dalam kajian yang dijalankan, terdapat tiga kaedah telah dicadangkan untuk melakukan ujian tarik keluar bagi batang kenaf tetulang seperti kaedah pencakuk, kaedah getah dan kaedah blok konkrit tuang pada kedua-dua sisi. Keputusan yang diperolehi kemudiannya akan dibuktikan oleh penggunaan besi bertekanan tingi dengan merujuk pada BS 8110: Bahagian 1: 1997. Daripada keputusan ujian tarik keluar, menunjukkan perilaku tidak konsisten bagi kaedah pencakuk dan kaedah getah kerana masalah tergelincir yang berlaku ketika ujian dijalankan. Namun, masalah ini tidak berlaku dalam kaedah blok konkrit tuang pada kedua-dua sisi. Ini menunjukkan konsistensi dalam keputusan bagi kedua-dua besi bertekanan tinggi dan kenaf tetulang bar. Keputusan ujian menunjukkan bahawa kekuatan ikatan kenaf tetulang bar jauh lebih rendah daripada besi bertekanan tinggi. ___________________________________________________________________________________ The integration of corrosive resistance material such as Kenaf reinforced bars as reinforcement in concrete members will benefit precast concrete industry besides suit to green environmental concept. The cost of repair and rehabilitation due to corrosion of steel reinforcement in concrete structure can be reduced with the uses of Kenaf reinforced bars. The study deals with an experimental work to develop methods for the pull out test for the Kenaf reinforced bars. The bond strength between the Kenaf reinforced bars and concrete is studied. As surface condition of Kenaf bars is rather smooth, it will have gripping problem while being pulled out by the testing machine. In the research work, there are three methods have been proposed to do the pull out test for Kenaf reinforced bars which are hook method, rubber method and two-side concrete block method. The obtained results then will be justified by the use of high tensile steel by refer to the BS 8110: Part 1: 1997. From the pull out test result, it shows the inconsistency behavior for the hook method and rubber method due to the slipping problem occurring during test. However, this problem does not happen in two-side concrete block method method. It shows the consistency in term of results for both high tensile steel and Kenaf reinforced bars. The results of the test indicate that bond strength of Kenaf reinforced bars much lower than high tensile steel.
