bahan penggantian separa simen. Sejumlah 6 bancuhan konkrit telah disediakan dalam
kajian ini, iaitu OPC 1, OPC 2, OPC 3, POFA 10, POFA 20, dan POFA 30. OPC 1,
OPC 2 dan OPC 3 masing-masing mempunyai ketumpatan 1000, 1400 dan 1700
kg/m3.
konkrit berbusa mengakibatkan peningkatan ketumpatan kering, bacaan UPV,

Palm oil fuel ash (POFA), a by-product from the palm oil industry which is nonenvironmentally
friendly waste product has contributed towards environmental
problem. Never ending researches have been conducted to fully utilize POFA as a
supplementary binder in concrete engineering field. Lightweight foamed concrete
which made up of a mixture of fine aggregates, ordinary Portland cement, water and
incorporation of uniformly distributed air voids into the fresh concrete. This research
is to study the development of lightweight foamed concrete using POFA as a
supplementary binder. A total of 6 mixes have been prepared in this study, which
consist of OPC1, OPC 2, OPC 3, POFA 10, POFA 20 and POFA 30. OPC 1, 2 and 3
are the control mixes with density of 1000, 1400 and 1700 kg/m3, respectively. POFA
10, 20 and 30 are the mixes with POFA replacement level of 10%, 20% and 30%
respectively. There are 2 modes of comparison and results analysis in this study which
included the percentage of POFA replacement and the same density category mode. In
the mode of percentage of POFA replacement, the introduction of POFA in the
foamed concrete gave a result of increasing dry density, UPV readings, compressive
strength, flexural strength but reducing water absorption and porosity in the foamed
concrete. While in the same density category mode, specimen with OPC only has a
better compressive strength, flexural strength and UPV readings compared to the
specimen with POFA as partial OPC replacement.
