Pengurusan tenaga adalah kaedah untuk mengurangkan pembaziran tenaga yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan tidak effisien memandangkan cabaran untuk tenaga semakin membimbangkan. Sistem Pengurusan Tenaga berdasarkan pengawal logik boleh diprogram ini merupakan koleksi peralatan dan perisian bagi mengurangkan pembaziran tenaga oleh pengawalan manual. Pengawalan secara automatik dilaksanakan dengan satu Pengawal Logik Boleh Diprogram OMRON CQM1H-CPU51 sebagai unit pengawal. Penderia membantu proses membuat keputusan dengan mengumpul maklumat. Tambahan, penjadualan menambahkan fleksibiliti sistem untuk mengurang pengunaan tenaga tanpa mengorbankan keselesaan. Pencatatan data membolehkan analisis dan kajian dilakukan pada masa depan. Satu antaramuka pengguna grafik yang dibangunankan denagan LabVIEW 6.1 berfungsi sebagai antaramuka mesin manusia bagi sistem ini, dan menawarkan pengawalan mudah dan interaktif. Sistem ini direka pada asas pengawalan tertumpu dengan satu komputer hos melaksanakan antaramuka grafik. Projek ini merupakan satu demonstrasi dan kajian awal kepada perlaksanaan sistem pengurusan tenaga di bangunan perpustakaan USM pada masa hadapan. Setelah dilaksanakan sepenuhnya, adalah diharapkan bahawa sistem ini mampu membawa penjimatan yang nyata dalam bil tenaga. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Energy management is an approach to reduce wastage due to inefficient use of energy in view of the stiffer energy challenge in decades to come. The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based Energy Management System is a collection of hardware and software components for the purpose of reducing energy wastage due to manual operation. Automated controls are carried out with a OMRON CQM1H-CPU51 PLC as the controller unit. Sensors are used to aid the controller in decision making by collecting status. In addition, features such as scheduling offers higher flexibility to the system operation in reducing energy consumption in buildings without sacrificing comfort. Data logging provides chances for building behavior analysis and trend study. A Graphic User Interface (GUI) developed with LabVIEW 6.1 offers an interactive yet simple controls way of control. The system is designed on a centralized control basis, with a host Personal Computer (PC) running the GUI. The project demonstrated the application of lights switching and fan speed manipulation based on illumination level, temperature, and occupancy. This project is a demonstration and preliminary study of future implementation of EMS in USM library building. It is expected to bring significant saving in utility bills when fully implemented.
