This British Standard specifies the general safety and performance requirements for gas-fired hot water boilers with a nominal heat input ranging from 60 kW to 2 MW.
It applies to boilers designed for producing hot water at temperatures below 100°C, intended primarily for space heating or hot water supply in buildings and industrial applications.
The standard covers:
Design and construction requirements to ensure safe operation.
Performance criteria, including efficiency and combustion quality.
Safety devices and control systems, such as flame supervision, temperature control, and overpressure protection.
Testing methods for verifying compliance with safety and performance standards.
Marking, documentation, and installation instructions to ensure proper operation and maintenance.
