This standard specifies cleansing and wetting procedures to be used for textile fabrics and fabric assemblies when assessing the effect of such treatments on their flammability. It provides methods for domestic and commercial washing, dry-cleaning, and wetting that simulate practical conditions of use, to ensure consistency and comparability of results in flammability testing.
