This Part of BS 5655 specifies outline dimensions
together with related loads, speeds and installation
arrangements for hydraulic and electric traction
lifts for the carriage of passengers and goods which
comply with the requirements of BS 5655-1
and BS 5655-2.
Seven electric traction lift installations are dealt
with as follows:
a) light passenger;
b) residential;
c) occasional passenger;
d) general purpose passenger;
e) intensive passenger;
f) bed/passenger;
g) general purpose goods;
h) heavy duty goods.
The following hydraulic lifts are also included:
1) light passenger;
2) occasional passenger.
