This part of BS 5659 specifies a method for the determination of the iron content in acid-grade fluorspar. The method involves dissolving a test portion, reducing the iron to the ferrous state, and determining it by titration with a standard dichromate solution. It is intended to provide a reliable means of assessing iron impurities in acid-grade fluorspar for industrial use.
