BS 6835:1988 - Method for determination of the rate of fatigue crack growth in metallic materials

Abstract This British Standard specifies a method for measuring fatigue crack growth rates in metal specimens at ambient temperature under constant-amplitude sinusoidal or triangular loading. It applies to predominantly elastic conditions with crack face displacements normal to the crack plane and straight-front crack propagation. Very low crack growth rates (<10⁻⁸ m/cycle) and threshold stress intensity factors are excluded.
