Abstract This part of BS 7225 specifies the classification system for shaped basic refractory products that contain less than 7% carbon by weight. These are typically used in high-temperature industrial processes, particularly where chemical resistance, thermal stability, and mechanical strength are required — such as in steelmaking, non-ferrous metallurgy, cement, and lime kilns.
