This standard outlines methods for: Fitting Polynomial Curves: Utilizing the least-squares criterion to fit quadratic, cubic, or higher-degree polynomial expressions to non-linear calibration data, considering only polynomials with integer powers. Uncertainty Assessment: Evaluating the uncertainty associated with the resulting calibration curve to ensure accurate flow measurements. Use of Computational Tools: Assuming the use of computer software for calculations due to the complexity of non-linear calibrations. A FORTRAN program is provided in Annex C as an example tool for performing these assessments. Practical Examples: Including examples in Annex D to demonstrate the application of the described methods. Itech Standards Limitations: Advising against extrapolating calibration curves beyond the range of the original data, as this can lead to significant inaccuracies.
