Abstract ​BS 1806:1989, titled "Specification for dimensions of toroidal sealing rings ('O'-rings) and their housings (inch series)," defines the dimensions and tolerances for 'O'-rings used in both static and dynamic applications, accommodating pressures up to 1500 psi (100 bar). The standard provides detailed specifications for 'O'-rings with nominal cross-sections ranging from 1/16 inch to 1/4 inch, and corresponding housing grooves for diametral and static face sealing applications
