BS 3072:1989, titled "Specification for Nickel and Nickel Alloys: Sheet and Plate," was a British Standard that detailed the requirements for nickel and nickel alloy sheets and plates. This standard applied to materials with thicknesses over 0.25 mm up to 4 mm for sheets, and over 4 mm for plates. It covered aspects such as chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, tolerances, heat treatment, testing, and marking. Published on March 30, 1990, BS 3072:1989 superseded the 1983 edition of the standard. However, it was withdrawn on August 2, 2013, and has not been directly replaced by a new standard.
