Nyahcaj di dalam mana-mana peralatan elektrik adalah salah satu ancaman yang boleh menyebabkan kemerosotan pada penebatannya. Oleh yang demikian, diagnostik yang kerap perlu dibuat untuk mengelakkan kerosakan dengan menggunakan sensor mengukur yang tepat. Di dalam tesis ini, Gegelung Rogowski (RC) telah digunakan sebagai satu sensor mengukur nyahcaj. Sensor RC di dalam ukuran frekuensi 10 MHz telah dibina dan eksperimen telah dijalankan untuk menentukan kesan komponen-komponen resistif ke atas pengesanan signal nyahcaj penamatan RC. Gelombang nyahcaj tanpa dan dengan rintangan penamatan, Rt disambung melintasi terminal RC telah diukur. Signal input nyahcah dijana oleh penjana nadi telah dilalukan melalui pusat RC dan ukuran telah dibuat dengan menggunakan osiloskop. Penamatan RC telah dibuat untuk meminimumkan ayunan gelombang yang terhasil di samping untuk mendapatkan signal yang sama dengan signal nyahcaj. Walau bagaimanapun, ia adalah sedikit mencabar untuk mengeluarkan nadi yang sama seperti nyahcaj daripada proses penamatan RC melainkan jika Rt yang sesuai telah ditentukan. Daripada eksperimen, ia telah dikaji bahawa RC dengan Rt = 330 Ω menghasilkan kurang ayunan berbanding dengan tanpa Rt. Ayunan menjadi hampir kosong apabila nilai Rt yang telah dikira iaitu Rt = 150 Ω digunakan. Keadaan-keadaan sedemikian telah membuktikan bahawa komponen2-komponen resistif gegelung itu boleh menyediakan sensor RC yang lebih bagus. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Partial discharge (PD) in any electrical equipment is a threat that can cause deterioration in the insulation. Thus, frequent diagnostic must be done to avoid breakdown by using accurate measuring sensors. In this thesis, Rogowski Coil (RC) is used as measuring sensor of PD. RC sensor within 10 MHz range of frequency is developed and experiment has been conducted to determine the effect of resistive components on PD detection signal of RC termination. PD waveform without and with terminating resistance, Rt connected across the RC terminal is measured. Input PD signal generated by pulse generator is passed through the center of RC and the measurement is made by using oscilloscope. Termination of RC is done to minimize the oscillation waveform produced as well as to obtain signal that is similar to PD signal. However, it is a bit challenging to extract the same pulse as PD from the termination process of RC unless suitable Rt is determined. From the experiment, it is investigated that RC with Rt = 330 Ω produce less oscillation compared to without Rt. The oscillation becomes almost zero when calculated Rt which is Rt = 150 Ω is used. These conditions prove that resistive components of the coil can provide more reliable sensor of RC.
