PD 6591:1996 is a British Publicly Available Specification (PAS) titled "Guidelines on how to use anechoic enclosures that do not fulfill the requirements regarding normalized site attenuation for pre-compliance tests of products." This standard provides guidance on using anechoic enclosures for pre-compliance testing of products, especially when the enclosures do not meet the requirements for normalized site attenuation. Anechoic enclosures are specially designed rooms that minimize sound reflections and external interference, creating an environment suitable for testing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and other electronic characteristics of products.
