BS EN 10209:1996 is a British Standard that specifies the requirements for continuously organic coated (coil coated) steel flat products for cold forming. The standard specifies the steel grades, dimensions, and tolerances, as well as the requirements for the organic coating, including the type of coating, the thickness, and the adhesion and flexibility of the coating.
The standard applies to steel products with a thickness of up to 2 mm and a width of up to 1,600 mm, and is intended for use in the construction industry, automotive industry, and other industrial applications where flat steel products for cold forming are required.
BS EN 10209:1996 was revised in 2013 and replaced by the European standard EN 10209:2013. The revised standard specifies the requirements for continuously organic coated (coil coated) steel flat products for cold forming and provides updated information on steel grades, dimensions, tolerances, and the requirements for the organic coating.
