Baja dapat menyediakan bekalan nutrient yang penting untuk tumbuh-tumbuhan. Malangnya, bekalan nutrient yang tidak terkawal akan menyebabkan pengumpulan zat nutrien dalam tanah yang banyak. Ini akan menjurus kepada beberapa kesan yang tidak baik terhadap alam sekitar, contohnya seperti kualiti air yang buruk di sekitar tumbuhan, pengumpulan logam berat pada tanah , dan menambah imunisasi parasit dalam tanah di sekitar tumbuhan. Untuk mengelakkan masalah yang sedemikian berlaku, pengawalan kadar pembebasan baja diperkenalkan. Dengan menggunakan perlepasan baja terkawal, pertumbuhan pokok akan lebih berkesan dan pada masa yang sama kita boleh melindungi bumi sebarang perkara yang memudaratkan. Dalam kajian ini, satu lapisan di atas baja telah dibuat dari campuran resin polysulfone, dan serbuk kalsium karbonat dalam larutan Dimethylforamide. Kadar keterlarutan zat nutrient yang dilepaskan telah diukur di bawah larutan pH yang berbeza. Kemudian, satu model telah di cipta menggunakan data yang telah diperolehi dari eksperiment dengan menggunalan MATLABTM. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Fertilizer supplies important nutrients which needed by the plants. Unfortunately, uncontrolled nutrient supply will cause nutrient accumulation in the ground. This will lead to several environmental effects such as bad water quality around the plant, heavy metal accumulation on the ground, and increased pets fitness. In order to avoid such problems to occur, controlled released fertilizer has being developed. By using controlled released fertilizer, we can have effective plant growth and at the same time we can protect our mother earth form harm such as nutrient flooding and low water quality. In this study, the coated of fertilizer was made from mixture of polysulfone resin and nano calcium carbonate powder in Dimethylforamide solution. The release rate of nutrient was measured under different pH of solution. Then a release rate model was developed from the data obtained by using MATLABTM.
