Pada masa ini, terdapat banyak isu-isu yang berkaitan dengan kualiti kuasa yang menjadi kebimbangan utama. Dalam projek ini, penyelewengan harmonik dan voltan mengendur dianalisis dalam usaha untuk meningkatkan kecekapan tenaga. Siasatan tersebut telah dijalankan di Pusat Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik, Universiti Sains Malaysia yang mempunyai bil elektrik yang tertinggi berbanding Pusat Pengajian lain di Kampus Kejuruteraan. The Fluke Power Quality Analyzer 43B single plase digunakan untuk mengumpul dan mengukur data. Dalam usaha untuk mengawal had herotan harmonik, IEEE standard digunakan untuk membandingkan nilai Total Demand Distortion (TDD) standard dengan nilai Total Demand Distortion (TDD) pada Point of Common Coupling (PCC). Daripada analisis, pengubah 1 mempunyai kualiti kuasa ketidakcekapan manakala pengubah 2 mempunyai kecekapan kualiti kuasa dalam jangka penyelewengan harmonik. Daripada analisis, ia juga mendapati bahawa peratusan voltan nominal dari setiap papan agihan mempunyai nilai lebih tinggi daripada pelbagai standard, bermakna semua papan agihan mempunyai nilai lebih tinggi daripada pelbagai standard, ia menunjukkan bahawa semua papan agihan di Pusat Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik mempunyai kecekapan kualiti kuasa dari segi mengendur voltan. Akhir sekali, beberapa cadangan seperti kotak hitam dengan di dalam kapasitor, penapis harmonik, pembetulan faktor kuasa, keseimbangan zig-zag reaktor, harmonik pengubah mengurangkan dan menyekat penapis neutral disediakan untuk meningkatkan kualiti kuasa ketidakcekapan dari segi herotan harmonik di Pusat Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ There are many issues that are related to power quality which of main concern nowadays. In this project, the harmonic distortion and voltage sag are analyzed in an effort to improve the energy efficiency. The investigation was undertaken at School of Electrical and Electronic, Universiti Sains Malaysia which has the highest electricity bills compared to the other Schools at the Engineering Campus. The Fluke Power Quality Analyzer 43B Single Phase is used to collect and measure the data. In order to control the limits for harmonic distortion, IEEE standard is applied for comparing the standard Total Demand Distortion (TDD) value with the Total Demand Distortion (TDD) value at Point of Common Coupling (PCC). From the analysis, transformer 1 has power quality inefficiency whereas transformer 2 has power quality efficiency in term of harmonic distortion. From the analysis, it was also found that the percentages of nominal voltage from each distribution boards have higher value than the standard range, meaning that all distribution boards have higher value than the standard range, it indicated that all distribution boards at School of Electrical and Electronic have power quality efficiency in term of voltage sag. Finally, some suggestions such as black box with capacitor inside, harmonic filter, power factor correction, balancing zig-zag reactors, harmonic mitigating transformer and neutral blocking filter are provided to improve the power quality inefficiency in term of harmonic distortion at School of Electrical and Electronic.
