Abstract BS EN 60835-2-2:1995 is a European standard that specifies methods for measuring the performance characteristics of electrical power transformers. The standard applies to all types of power transformers, including single-phase and three-phase transformers, and transformers used for power distribution and transmission. The standard specifies a range of performance tests that can be used to evaluate the efficiency, voltage regulation, and other characteristics of power transformers. These tests include: Load-loss and no-load loss measurements to determine the transformer's efficiency. Impedance measurement to determine the transformer's voltage regulation. Measurement of the insulation resistance to determine the insulation quality. Measurement of winding resistance to determine the transformer's resistance. The purpose of BS EN 60835-2-2:1995 is to ensure that power transformers meet the necessary performance requirements for their intended use. The standard provides guidelines for preparing test samples and conducting the tests, and also specifies the acceptance criteria for each test. By testing power transformers to this standard, manufacturers can ensure that their products meet the necessary performance standards, and users can be confident in the reliability and efficiency of the transformers they use.
