BS EN 60811-1-1:1995 is a European standard that specifies test methods for determining the mechanical properties of insulated electrical and optical cables, such as tensile strength, elongation at break, and flexibility. The standard applies to cables with solid or stranded conductors, and with insulation and/or sheaths made of various materials, including thermoplastics, elastomers, and cross-linked materials. BS EN 60811-1-1:1995 includes test procedures for measuring the mechanical properties of cable materials under different conditions, such as ambient temperature, low temperature, and wet conditions. The standard also provides guidelines for preparing test samples and conducting the tests.
