Kanak-kanak kurang upaya dengan masalah mobiliti dan komunikasi sering diabaikan oleh masyarakat kita. Golongan kanak-kanak ini menghadapi masalah untuk berkomunikasi dengan keluarga mereka dalam kehidupan seharian. Justeru, percubaan untuk membina satu alat perhubungan untuk kanak-kanak kurang upaya yang menghadapi masalah pertuturan dan pergerakan telah dijalankan. Alat ini dapat membantu kanak-kanak kurang upaya untuk memberitahu ibu bapa keperluan mereka dengan cara menekan butang-butang pada alat ini. LED akan menyala dan pembaz akan mengeluarkan nada sewajarnya untuk memaklum ibu bapa. Gambar-gambar berkenaan keperluan mereka dilekatkan di atas alat tersebut untuk membantu kanak-kanak memahami makna butang. Fungsi lain pada alat ini termasuk komunikasi tanpa wayar dan pengesanan bunyi bising menandakan kecemasan. Ibu bapa perlu membawa satu alat penerima tanpa wayar untuk menerima maklumat daripada alat tersebut pada bila-bila masa. Apabila bunyi bising dikesan, alat ini juga akan menghantar isyarat kepada ibu bapa bagi memberitahu tentang kecemasan. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Disabled children with mobility and verbal communication problems have always been neglected by our society. It has long been observed that this group of children often has a hard time communicating with their family in their daily lives. An attempt to build a communicator for non-verbal and non-mobile disabled children is thus being initiated. The built device allows disabled children to tell their parents their needs by pressing buttons on the device. LEDs will light up and buzzer will make a tone accordingly to notify parents. Pictures relating to the needs are attached on top of the device to help children understand what the buttons mean. Other functions of this device include wireless communication and loud noise detection which indicates emergency. Parents will have to carry a receiver with them to receive information from the device at any time. When a loud noise is detected nearby the children, the device will also transmit a signal to the receiver to alarm parents in case of emergency.
