Pada beberapa tahun yang lalu, permintaan sumber tenaga boleh diperbaharui telah meningkat secara mendadak. Salah satu contoh adalah tenaga solar disebabkan penerimaan sumber tenaga solar yang tinggi oleh bumi. Banyak kajian telah dijalankan untuk meningkatkan peratusan penerimaan tenaga solar. Ini termasuklah memaksimumkan penerimaan sinaran solar dari pancaran matahari. Projek ini mengenai pembinaan dua paksi sistem pengesanan solar dan membandingkan prestasinya dengan panel solar statik. Dua paksi sistem pengesanan solar dijalankan dengan menjejaki lokasi matahari dari semasa ke semasa. Kedudukan panel solar kemudiannya diselaraskan sehingga ia berserenjang dengan lokasi matahari. Satu Arduino Mega 2560 mikropengawal digunakan untuk mengawal semua operasi dalam projek ini. Perintang Peka Cahaya digunakan sebagai penjejak solar. Penyelarasan kedudukan panel solar dilakukan dengan motor penggerak linear. Litar pengukuran voltan dan arus dibangunkan untuk menilai prestasi dua paksi sistem pengesanan solar dan panel solar statik. Pada akhir eksperimen, sistem yang dicadangkan mempunyai purata peningkatan peratusan sebanyak 17.53% berbanding dengan panel solar statik. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ In few years back, the demand for reliable renewable energy sources has increased tremendously. One of the examples is solar energy due to its abundance on earth. A lot of researches have been carried out to improve the percentage of harvesting solar energy. This includes maximizing the extraction of the solar irradiance from the sun .This project is about developing an automated dual axis solar tracking system and compares its performance with a static solar panel. Automated dual axis solar tracking system is done by tracking the location of sun from time to time. The position of solar panel is then adjusted until it is perpendicular to location of sun. An Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller is used to control all the operations in this project. Light Dependent Resistors are used as solar tracker. The adjustment of solar panel position is done by linear actuator motor. Voltage and current measurement circuits are developed in order to evaluate the performance of automated dual axis solar tracking system and static solar panel. In the end of experiment, the proposed system has average percentage improvements of 17.53% compare to static solar panel.
