Angin merupakan salah satu tenaga bersih yang boleh diperbaharui yang bersih kerana ia tidak melepaskan apa-apa bahan kimia yang boleh menyebabkan pencemaran. Sebuah turbin angin dengan tiga mata bilah yang boleh menghasilkan 2 kW kuasa yang telah dipasangkan di kawasan lapang 50 meter dari Pusat Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik (PPKEE). Faktor-faktor yang memberi kesan kepada prestasi turbin angin ini akan dikaji. Ini termasuk, kelajuan angin, ketinggian turbin angin, lokasi di PPKEE, dan struktur turbin angin. Ciri-ciri angin ini akan dianalisa menggunakan Microsoft Office Excel. Weibull dan Rayleigh Kebarangkalian Fungsi Ketumpatan akan dikira. Data angin dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan Fluks Multimeter selama 26 hari berturut-turut kecuali hujung minggu (makmal ditutup) pada bulan April 2015. Masukan tiga fasa akan ditukar menjadi keluaran fasa tunggal oleh penukar. Keputusan yang diperolehi menunjukkan bahawa keadaan angin di PPKEE adalah tenang berdasarkan skala Beaufort yang menunjukan kelajuan angin adalah kurang daripada 2 km/h. Purata kelajuan angin harian sangat kecil iaitu 0.15m/s. Kuasa maksimum yang dihasilkan oleh turbin angin ini adalah 0.289 Watt. Faktor-faktor yang memberi kesan kepada penjanaan tenaga daripada turbin angin di PPKEE adalah ketinggian, jarak, dan gangguan daripada pokok dan bangunan. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Wind is one from of renewable energy which is clean because it does not release any chemicals that could generate pollution. A three blade wind turbine that can produce 2 power has been erected at an open space 50 metre away from Pusat Pengajian Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik (PPKEE). The factors that impact wind turbine performance will be investigated. This includes, speed of wind, height of wind turbine, location at PPKEE, and structure of wind turbine. The wind data were collected using Flux Multimeter for 26 consecutive days except for weekends (as the laboratory is closed) in the month of April 2015. The three phase input will be converted into single phase output by converter. The obtained results show that the wind at PPKEE is calm because wind speed is less than 2 km/h according to Beaufort scale. The characteristic of the wind is analyzed using Microsoft Office Excel. The Weibull and Rayleigh Probability Density Function are calculated. The value of average daily wind speeds is 0.15m/s which is very small. The maximum power that can be generated by this wind turbine is 0.289 Watt. The factors that are found to has impact on the generation of energy from the wind turbine at PPKEE are heights, distance, and disturbance from trees and building.
