The European Standard EN 297 has been prepared by the Technical Committee CEN/TC 109, Gas-fired central heating boilers, the secretariat of which is held by the IBN. It was established to deal with aspects related to: — safety; — rational use of energy; — fitness for purpose. Other types of boilers, and those of higher nominal heat input excluded from this standard, are dealt with in separate standards.
