Solar based car ventilation system

Solar based car ventilation system / Asirah Roslan
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The solar based ventilation system exhales hot air inside a parked car to the outside. On a sunny day, solar energy as a main source of the system can be used to operate the ventilator. The purpose of this project is to study on solar based ventilation system and its effectiveness in reducing the temperature inside the car that is parked under the sun. Moreover, the performance of the motor, power produced from the solar panel, airflow rate effect, tilt angle effect and radiation effect were investigated. A commercial ventilator and a designed ventilator have been tested to investigate the effect of ventilation system inside a parked car. The present study shows that the commercial ventilator only provided 6.86% of reducing interior temperature inside a car compared to without ventilator. A new ventilator with a better fan and motor speed should be developed to give better result than a commercial ventilator. It is found that more electricity is needed for high speed motor in a designed ventilator. From result, a designed ventilator provided at least 19.26% better result of reducing the interior temperature inside the parked car compared to a commercial ventilator.
