BS EN 10109-3:1996 is a British Standard that specifies the requirements for cold-rolled low-carbon steel strip for the production of hardening and tempering carbon and alloy steel strip. The standard applies to strip of thicknesses up to and including 2.50 mm and widths up to and including 600 mm.
The standard specifies the chemical composition, mechanical properties, and tolerances for dimensions and shape of the cold-rolled low-carbon steel strip. It also includes requirements for surface quality, flatness, and edge condition of the strip.
The standard is intended for use by manufacturers and users of cold-rolled low-carbon steel strip for the production of hardening and tempering carbon and alloy steel strip. It is also useful for other applications where these requirements are appropriate.
