Dalam kajian ini, penjerap kulit telur terubahsuai (PKTT) telah disediakan untuk penyingkiran Metil Violet (MV) dalam larutan akuas. Kulit telur diimpregnasi dengan kalium hidroksida (KOH) diikuti dengan pengaktifan bawah aliran karbon dioksida pada 800◦C telah dijalankan. PKTT yang terhasil didapati berliang meso, dengan luas permukaan mesoliang 185.74 m2 / g, kawasan permukaan mesopore ialah 106.81 m2 / g, jumlah isi padu liang ialah 0.117 cm3 / g dan purata diameter liang ialah 7.86 nm. Bagi kumpulan kajian penjerapan, penjerapan pewarna MV oleh PKTT didapati telah meningkat dengan meningkatnya kepekatan awal pewarna dan masa sentuhan. Penjerapan MV didapati meningkat antara 24.63 dan 299.31 mg / g ketika kepekatan awal pewarna ialah antara 25 dan 300 mg / L. Sistem MESA-MV juga sesuai dengan model isoterma Freundlich. Kajian kinetik mendedahkan bahawa penjerapan pewarna MESA mengikuti pseudo-tertib kedua. Kajian termodinamik juga sedang dijalankan dan hasilnya menunjukkan bersifat eksotermik. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ In this study, modified egg shell adsorbent (MESA) was prepared for the removal of Methyl Violet (MV) in an aqueos solution. Impregnation egg shell with potassium hydroxide (KOH) followed by activation under carbon dioxide flow at 800◦C were carried out. The produced MESA was found to be mesoporous in nature, with the BET surface area of 185.74 m2/g , mesopore surface area of 106.81 m2/g, total pore volume of 0.117 cm3/g and average pore diameter of 7.86 nm. For batch adsorption study, the MV dyes uptakes by MESA were increased with initial dyes concentration and contact time. The adsorption uptakes of MV were found to increase from 24.63 to 299.31 mg/g as the initial dye concentration increase from 25 to 300 mg/L. The MESA-MV system suits with Freundlich isotherm model. Kinetic studies revealed that adsorption of dyes MESA followed pseudo-second-order. Thermodynamics study was also being carried out and the result shows a exothermic nature.
