Kajian ini mempunyai dua objektif utama iaitu untuk menentukan kewujudan THM di dalam air minuman berklorin dan juga menyiasat hubungandi antara parameter-parameter kualiti air dan pembentukan THM dalam air minuman berklorin. THMterdiri daripada empat sebatian kimia yang melibatkan kloroform, bromoform, bromodiklorometana dan dibromoklorometana.Dalam kajian ini, sampel air telah diambil dari dua buah loji rawatan air yang berbeza untuk menganalisis THMsepanjang bulan Mac hingga April 2016. Dua loji rawatan air ini terletakdi utaradan pantai timur Malaysia iaitu di Jalan Baru, Perak dan Kelar, Kelantan. Sampel air diambil selepas proses penurasan dan penyahjangkitan klorin untuk menganalisi hubungan antara beberapa parameter air termasuk pH, suhu air, kandungan karbon organik (TOC) dan UV254nm dengan pembentukan THM dalam air minuman berklorin.Data yang diperolehi menunjukkan bahawa tiada perbezaan ketara untuk parameter pH, suhu dan UV254 bagi kedua-dua loji rawatan air. Data tidak dapat dikesan dalam kebanyakan sampel untuk pembentukan THM kecuali kompaun kloroform. Merujuk kepada Piawaian Kualiti Air Minuman, nilai maksimum yang dibenarkan untuk THM ialah 1 mg/L. Dalam kebanyakan sampel, data yang diperolehi adalah di bawah nilai maksima. Tambahan pula, TOC menunjukkan bahawa nilai yang diperolehi tidak konsisten berbanding parameter-parameter lain di mana ia menunjukkan perbezaan yang ketara. Bagi ammonia nitrogen pula, sesetengah nilai yang diperolehi tidak berada di dalam julat yang telah ditetapkan oleh Piawaian Kualiti Air Minuman di mana nilainya adalah 20 mg/L ke atas. Nilai maksima yang ditetapkan ialah 1.5 mg/L. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ This research has two main objectives which are to determine THM occurrences in chlorinated drinking water and to investigate water quality parameters correlation to THM formation in chlorinated drinking water. THMs consist of four regulated chemical compounds involving chloroform, bromoform, bromodichloromethane and dibromochloromethane. In this study, water samples were collected from two different water treatment plants for analysis of trihalomethanes (THMs) along March to April 2016. The two water treatment plants are located at North and East Coast region of Malaysia which is in Jalan Baru, Perak and Kelar, Kelantan respectively. The samples were taken after filtration and disinfection process in order to investigate water quality parameters including pH, temperature, total organic carbon (TOC) and UV254nm correlation to THMs formation in chlorinated drinking water. Data obtained showed that there were no significant differences on pH, temperature and U254 nm for both WTPs. The data were not detected in most samples for THMs formation except chloroform. Referring to Malaysian Drinking Water Quality Standard the maximum acceptable value for THMs is 1mg/L. In most samples, the data was below the detection limit. In addition, data obtained for TOC showed that the values were not consistent compared to others water quality parameter as it the values has big different. For ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N),some values were not being within the limit as specified by to Malaysian Drinking Water Quality Standard where the values obtained were 20 mg/L above. The maximum acceptable value specified is 1.5 mg/L
