The purpose of this project is to verify the behaviour of composite laminates for both experimental and simulation analysis. The composite laminates will be subjected to static and dynamic loading where in static loading, the composite laminates will be tested to tensile and compression test whereas for dynamic loading, the composite laminates will be conducted fatigue test. The results obtained from experiment approach will be verified using simulation of ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL). In static loading, the specimens used is fiberglass and it will be testing until it is rupture while in dynamic loading, the specimens tested is not necessary to be rupture because for the fatigue test analysis, the number of cycles, amplitude and frequency will be constant for all specimens tested. The specimens used throughout the project are fiberglass which is divided into six and seven plies. From the result obtained, the number of plies do affected the strength of the composite laminates for all cases. Both results are verified in relation to the objectives of the project. This project serves a stepping stone for future research on the study between experimental approach and simulation approach using fiberglass as its materials throughout this project.
