___________________________________________________________________________________ Many concrete nowadays has been deteriorating before reach their design life. Therefore, evaluation of damage level of concrete should be carried out to check whether the crack that occured in the concrete is dangerous or not. Thus, in this study reinforced concrete beams have been monitored by Acoustic Emission (AE) and evaluated by intensity analaysis. Ten beams with dimensions 100 mm x 100 mm x 500 mm were tested under three point bending testing in a stepwise loading. The capability of the AE technique to detect and locate the location of cracks are investigated in this study. This project also help to identify the cumulative absolute energy from the AE system in different machanical behaviour of concrete when subjected to loading. Visual observation of the concrete failure are also presented to compare with the AE results. In addition, a statistical approach, intensity analysis are discussed in this study to evaluate the levels of damage of concrete. From the results obtained, it can summarized that all the beams are failed in shear mode and the five stages of mechanical behaviour of the concrete can be classified. The results also show that the AE technique are the good instrument in locating the micro-cracking and the first visible crack as well. From the AE data, it found that the first visible crack are accur when the cumlulative absolute energy exceeds 1x 106 attoJoule (aJ). For the intensity analysis, the levels of damage cannot be identify due to the limiting number of specimens tested. However, the trend of the intensity values plotted in the intensity chart was observed.
