Abstract Title: Methods for analysis of milk-based products — Determination of fat content of milk-based edible ices and ice mixes by the Weibull-Berntrop gravimetric method This British Standard specifies a reference method for the determination of fat content in: Milk-based edible ices (e.g., ice cream, frozen desserts) Ice mixes (premixes intended for freezing) The method is based on the Weibull-Berntrop gravimetric technique, which involves: Acid digestion of the sample to release fat Solvent extraction of fat using diethyl ether and petroleum ether Gravimetric measurement of extracted fat content
