BS 3584:1989 is a British Standard that specifies a method for determining the solubility of wool in a urea-bisulphite solution. This test is applicable to wool textiles in various forms, including loose fibre, sliver, roving, yarn, or fabric. However, it is not suitable for specimens that have been dyed with any metallized dye, as such dyes can interfere with the accuracy of the test results.
