This Part of BS 7752 specifies requirements for free running wire thread inserts which, when fitted into an appropriately prepared hole, will: a) provide ISO metric coarse pitch female threads of tolerance class 5H or 6H with sizes from M8 X 1 to M24 X 2 inclusive; b) accept ISO metric male threads conforming to BS 3643‑1:1981 and BS 3643‑2:1981; c) operate successfully in the temperature range – 50 °C to+ 300 °C.
