Pemutus litar elektronik adalah sebuah pemutus litar yang dikawal oleh mikropegawalan. Pemutus litar elektronik adalah hybrid daripada pemutus litar sedia ada. Ia adalah terhasil daripada gabungan antara bahagian mekanikal dan elektronik. Pemutus litar elektronik yang dicadangkan mengandungi dua bahagian utama iaitu litar pengesan arus dan mikropengawalan. Litar pengesan arus menggunakan pengesan arus jenis ACS712 IC. Litar pengesan arus adalah gabungan antara litar pemacu geganti dan litar yang diaplikasikan daripada helaian data ACS712 IC. Selepas itu, litar pengesan arus akan digabungkan dengan mikropengawalan melalui input ADC. Mikropengawalan yang digunakan di dalam projek ini adalah jenis AVR Butterfly. Mikropengawalan tersebut akan membaca aras voltan daripada litar pengesan arus melalui input ADC sebelum menghantar isyarat ke pemutus litar untuk memutuskan litar jika berlaku sebarang kerosakan atau lebihan arus. Tahap pemotongan arus boleh diubah dan ditetapkan dengan cara memprogramkan AVR Butterfly. Pemutus litar diuji dengan menggunakan beban perintang, perintang boleh ubah dan digabungkan dengan mikropengawalan. Hasilnya, apabila beban berkurangan, beban arus output IL dan voltan output dari litar pengesan arus VO akan meningkat. Kuasa output turut dikira. Nilai VO digunakan oleh ADC dalam mikropengawalan sebagai penunjuk untuk mikropengawalan memutuskan litar. Jika nilai voltan melebihi nilai pemutus yang telah diprogramkan, mikropengawalan akan menghantar isyarat kepada geganti untuk memutuskan litar tersebut. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Electronic circuit breaker is a circuit breaker controlled by a microcontroller. Electronic circuit breaker is the hybrid of the conventional circuit breaker. It is a combination of the mechanical and electronic part to form the circuit breaker. The circuit breaker uses an AC input supply. The proposed electronic circuit breaker consists of two parts which are the current detection circuit and the microcontroller. The current detection circuit uses a current sensor which is the ACS712 IC. The current detection circuit is the combination of the relay driver circuit and the typical application circuit based on the ACS712 IC datasheet. The current detection circuit will then interface with the microcontroller through the ADC input. The AVR Butterfly microcontroller is used in this project. The microcontroller will read the voltage level from the current detection circuit through ADC input before sending a signal to the circuit breaker to trip if a fault or over current occurs. The trip level can be set by programming the AVR Butterfly. The circuit breaker is test using the resistive load, variable resistance and interfaced with the microcontroller. As the result, when the load is decreasing the output load current IL and the output voltage from current detection circuit VO is increased. The output power is then calculated. The value of V0 is used by the ADC in microcontroller as the reference for the microcontroller to trip the circuit. If the voltage value exceeds the trip value programmed, then the microcontroller will send signal to the relay to trip the circuit.
