Penggunaan motor induksi semakin berleluasa berbanding dengan motor dc . Keperluan untuk mengawal kelajuan motor menjadi semakin penting untuk pelbagai jenis peralatan yang digunakan di rumah, pejabat, kedai dan kilang seperti pengisar, mesin pemotong rumput, dan mesin basuh. Objektif projek ini adalah membina pengawal mesin induksi dengan menggunakan komponen dan peralatan yang mencukupi dan operasi modulasi lebar denyut (PWM) didalam litar inverter yang beroperasi untuk mengawal kelajuan motor induksi dijalankan. Kawalan motor induksi satu fasa dipersembahkan dan modulasi lebar denyut (PWM) bahagian operasi pengawal frekuensi dipastikan melalui eksperimen. Aplikasi bagi pengawal motor induksi ini adalah motor induksi satu fasa yang mempunyai kuasa kurang daripada ½ hp. Kawalan adalah dengan menggunakan punca voltan PWM inverter yang menggunakan MOSFET untuk transistor kuasa. MOSFET adalah dalam konfigurasi jejambat penuh satu fasa. Inverter menghasilkan gelombang frekuensi berubah-ubah untuk menjalankan motor pada kelajuan yang berbeza-beza. Projek ini adalah khusus pada pensuisan MOSFET kuasa untuk mengawal kelajuan motor induksi. Skop kerja projek ini dihadkan dan fokus kepada pensuisan MOSFET kuasa dalam bahagian kawalan motor induksi. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Nowadays the electrical motors that are most widely used are asynchronous motors (about 70- 90% of all motors are asynchronous). The needs of varying the speed of the ac induction motor has become extensively important for many types of equipment in homes, offices, shops and factories such as blenders, lawn mowers, juice mixers, and washing machine. The objective of this project is to construct an ac motor controller and to demonstrate the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) operation of the inverter part of the design that runs an ac induction motor at variable speeds. A single-phase ac induction motor controller is presented and the PWM (pulse width modulated) frequency control part of the operation is verified experimentally. The application for this ac motor controller is existing single-phase ac induction motors less than ½ hp. Control is by a voltage source PWM inverter that uses MOSFETs for power transistors. The MOSFETs are configured in a single phase full-bridge. The inverter generates a variable frequency output waveform to run a motor at variable speeds. This project emphasize on the power MOSFET switching device to control the speed of the ac induction motor. However, it is important to keep in mind that the scope of work is limited on the power MOSFET switching device in the ac induction motor controller part.
