Tesis ini menerangkan tentang kemajuan perkembangan terkini geganti
elektromagnetik yang seringkali dibincangkan. Peranti geganti elektromagnetik ini
berdasarkan keutamaan magnetik julur permalloy di dalam medan magnet kekal.
Model geganti elektromagnetik dibina dari peranti yang terdiri daripada julur yang
dibuat dari bahan magnet lembut yang dipanggil permalloy, dua saiz magnet kekal
20x30x60 mm dan papan litar bercetak yang telah direka dari perisian CST Studio Suite.
Selain dari itu, tesis ini menerangkan analisis secara simulasi dan pengukuran
kelakuan magnetik geganti elektromagnetik . Simulasi kelakuan magnetik geganti
elektromagnetik dilaksanakan menggunakan perisian ANSYS manakala pengukuran
dilakukan ke atas hasil rekacipta geganti elektromagnetik.

This thesis describes recent progresses on the development of a new type of
electromagnetic relay that has recently been demonstrated. The device is based on
preferential magnetization of a permalloy cantilever in a permanent external magnetic field.
Switching between two stable states is accomplished by a short current pulse through an
integrated coil underneath the cantilever.
The model of an electromagnetic relay is build up from the device consist of a
cantilever that made from soft magnetic material called permalloy, two permanent magnets
size 20x30x60mm, cantilever, a current-carrying planar coil design by CST Studio Suite
and the necessary electric contact.
In the other hand, this thesis describes the analysis of the magnetic behavior of
electromagnetic relay component in both simulation and measurement. The simulation is
being conduct via finite element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS Software while the
measurement is conducted on a novel design of the electromagnetic relay.
