BS EN 60704-2-6:1995 is a European standard that specifies methods for measuring the performance of household electric cooking appliances, such as ovens, hobs, and ranges, in terms of energy consumption, cooking performance, and other related characteristics. The standard sets out specific procedures and requirements for testing the energy efficiency, cooking time, temperature distribution, and other performance parameters of electric cooking appliances.
BS EN 60704-2-6:1995 also includes guidelines for calculating the energy efficiency of electric cooking appliances, taking into account factors such as the cooking time, cooking temperature, and the energy consumption of the appliance during use. The standard is intended to provide a common basis for measuring the performance of electric cooking appliances across Europe, ensuring that consumers can make informed choices about the energy efficiency and performance of the appliances they buy.
It is worth noting that this standard has been superseded by BS EN 60704-2-6:2015, which provides updated testing procedures and performance requirements for electric cooking appliances.
