DD ENV 1992-1-5:1996 is a European pre-standard titled "Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures - Part 1-5: General rules - Structural fire design". It provides guidance for designing concrete structures to withstand the effects of fire, including the calculation of the fire resistance of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures.
The pre-standard includes methods for determining the temperature distribution in a concrete element exposed to fire, and for calculating the reduction in strength and stiffness of the element due to the effects of fire. It also provides guidelines for determining the fire resistance of concrete elements based on their dimensions and the type of protection applied.
DD ENV 1992-1-5:1996 was published as a pre-standard by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and was later replaced by EN 1992-1-2:2004 Eurocode 2: Design of concrete structures - Part 1-2: General rules - Structural fire design. EN 1992-1-2:2004 is now the official European standard for the design of concrete structures to withstand the effects of fire.
