Di dalam kajian ini, kecekapan sel bahanapi secara terus (SBST) telah dijalankan dengan menggunakan teknik chronoamperometry. Kepekatan metanol telah diubah menggunakan 1M, 2M, 3M, 4M dan 5M. Arus yang terhasil daripada SBST pada setiap kepekatan metanol dianalisa dan didapat kepekatan 2M menghasilkan arus tertinggi sebanyak 0.0075 mA. Kepekatan metanol yang tinggi (>2M) sebenarnya menyebabkan perpindahan molekul-molekul metanol dari anod ke katod. Di katod, molekul-molekul metanol bersedia dioksidakan oleh oksigen yang hadir. Arus yang terhasil oleh SBST juga didapati adalah sangat tinggi pada permulaan masa ujikaji. Voltan keupayaan 0.6 V yang dikenakan oleh elektrod pada SBST mencukupi untuk mengaruhkan molekul-molekul metanol untuk berkumpul berdekatan permukaan elektrod. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ In this study the performance of direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) was investigated using chronoamperometry technique. The concentrations of methanol were varied using 1M, 2M, 3M, 4M and 5M. The current generated by the DMFC of each concentration was analyzed and found that 2M of concentration gave the highest current generated of 0.0075 mA. High concentration of methanol (>2M) eventually leads the migration of methanol molecules from anode to cathode. At cathode, the methanol molecules were readily oxidized by oxygen available. The current generated in DMFCs was found to be very high at initial time. The potential voltage of 0.6 V applied to the working electrode of DMFCs was sufficient to induce the methanol molecules to accumulate near the electrode surface.
