Reliability assessment of jacket platform using pushover analysis

Reliability assessment of jacket platform using pushover analysis / Hanif Izani Ishak
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Most of the jacket platform in Malaysian water has exceeded their design life, mainly due to the demand of continue usage to further extract oil from the reservoir. Hence, the reliability of the jacket platform has to be assessed to ensure they are fit for future operation despite aging problem. Pushover analysis was performed on jacket platform to obtain Reserve Strength Ratio as an indicator of the reliability of the jacket. Offshore structures from the Gulf of Suez, Mexico were used to perform the analysis. The pushover analysis of this study was performed by SAP2000 program and with nine different live loads. This dissertation aims to introduce the applications of this approach in deterministic assessment of existing jacket platform according to ISO 19902. Finding has revealed that RSR value with ISO 19902 as reference is able to determine the structural integrity of the platform.
