Sistem fotovolta (PV) yang menukarkan cahaya matahari kepada tenaga elektrik telah menjadi jenis penghasilan tenaga yang digemari seluruh dunia. Dengan fenomena ini, pemantauan merupakan aspek penting untuk memastikan prestasi dan kualiti sistem tersebut dalam keadaan baik. Kaedah kebiasaan bagi mengumpul data ialah dengan menggunakan kabel data. Disebabkan kebatasan kabel data, kerja pemantauan perlu dilakukan berdekatan dengan loji jana kuasa. Untuk sistem jangka masa panjang, kabel ini mungkin rosak akibat ditinggalkan di bawah terik matahari. Ia akan menyebabkan kos penyelenggaraan bertambah. Tujuan projek ini ialah untuk menghasilkan sistem pemantauan yang mempunyai kebolehgunaan mudah dan kos efektif. Sebuah pengawalmikro Arduino Yun yang mempunyai Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n tersedia digunakan untuk membangunkan sistem pemantauan atas talian. Parameter seperti voltan, arus, kuasa, suhu, dan sinaran solar akan dipaparkan di platfom internet – Ubidots. Rekabentuk bagi perkakasan dan perisian akan diterangkan dengan terperinci di dalam kertas ini. Untuk menilai projek ini, sistem pemantauan ini diletakkan pada sistem PV 50W. Hasil uji kaji menunjukkan bahawa sistem ini berjaya mengumpul data dan menghantar maklumat ke internet. Ia dapat di pantau secara tanpa-wayar dalam lingkungan jarak tertentu. Akhir sekalim sistem pemantauan tanpa wayar ini dapat memberikan kelebihan dengan hanya mengunakan kaedah mudah dan teknologi moden. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Photovoltaic (PV) system which is converting sunlight into electrical energy has becoming world’s favourite type of energy generation. Through this phenomenon, monitoring is an important aspect for observing performance and quality of the system. The common method to collect data for monitoring is transmission across data cable. Due to the limitation of data cable, monitoring works need to be done near the PV plant. Over the years, these cables might be damaged because being left under scorching sun for a long time. It will add some maintenance cost for the system. The aim of this project is to develop easy usability and cost effective for PV monitoring system. A microcontroller Arduino Yun which has built in Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n is used to develop an online PV monitoring system. Parameter such as voltage, current, power, temperature and solar irradiance will be display in Internet of Things platform - Ubidots. The design for hardware and software will be explained in detail in this paper. To evaluate this project, the monitoring system has been implemented on 50W stand-alone PV system. The results show that this system work successfully to collect the data and transmit to the internet. It can be monitored wirelessly in some significant distance. Finally, this wireless monitoring system will give advantages using simple method and modern technology.
