Kitaran tugas penukar
ditetapkan pada 2/3 dan frekuensi penukarannya ialah 8 kHz. Nisbah peningkatan tiga
kali ganda (3X) voltan input berjaya dicapai. Prototaip yang direka mampu mencapai
efisiensi 76% pada kuasa output 28W. Prinsip-prinsip operasi dan keputusan
eksperimen juga dibentangkan di dalam tesis ini. Keptusan menunjukkan bahawa

The design for the dc-dc converter interfacing the battery and the inverter dc bus
of the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
remains a challenge to car companies given the restrictive automotive space. The
traditional DC-DC converter has several drawbacks such as large inductance
requirement and high voltage ratings across the switches. Additional level topologies
are designed and proposed to overcome these. This thesis presents a non-isolated
unidirectional four-level flying-capacitor DC-DC converter on printed circuit board.
The duty cycle of the converter is set to be 2/3 and the switching frequency is 8 kHz.
The boost ratio of three times (3X) the input voltage is achieved. The developed
prototype is capable of achieving efficiency of 76% at 28W output power. The
operating principles and experimental results are also presented in this thesis. The result
shows that the prototype is fully functional for a range of up to about 25W. It can also
be observed experimentally that the peak voltage across the power switches is only 1/3
of the output voltage during steady state. The small air core inductor is sufficient to
limit the input current ripple to enable devices to conduct safely and effectively.
