Abstract The Fieldbus message specification (FMS) is based on a series of object oriented models that provide distributed applications with the functionality and services necessary for their implementation in an open, interoperable environment. This specification should be read in conjunction with Fieldbus Access Sublayer, Network Management and System Management Specifications.
