Development of wireless biomedical sensor system / Nor Amalina Md Zahir
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Biomedical sensor has three different types of sensors which are physical sensor, chemical sensor and bio-sensor. Physical sensor senses blood pressure and glucose levels. Blood pressure reading includes systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and pulse readings. Nowadays, all the blood pressure readings require wired connection to transfer the readings to personal computer for further analysis. Thus, this project aims to develop a system where I2C communication protocol is used to transfer raw data into CT-UNO microcontroller to process and sort the data before transmitting it wirelessly by using XBee modules. I2C communication protocol is a main key to eardrop the data from EEPROM memory before the data is been processes from binary to decimal in microcontroller. Then the results can be seen by using X-CTU software serial monitor. The performance of the project is analyze in term of range distance and RSSI value by using Radio Range test which is one of the application in X-CTU software. There are several test to analyze the performance which are communication test, distance test, and obstacle test in order to determine the number of RSSI value or attenuation rate, packet loss and percentage of success received. In conclusion, the system helps medical officers and doctors to get the results continuously from patients anytime and anywhere in the hospital.
